Financial Coach Master Training 2.0 - Onboarding & Lesson Flow
Overview
At the start of 2023, Financial Coach Master Training, an online course that helps users become financial coaches, was due for a major refresh. Stakeholders gave us the green light (and creative freedom) to completely reimagine the experience. That meant a full content overhaul, a reshoot of all training videos, and a brand-new user experience from the ground up.
I played a hands-on role throughout the project. On set, I helped shape the tone, look, and flow of the new video content—partnering closely with the producer to ensure everything aligned with our learning goals. At the same time, I was deep into wireframing, user research, and redesigning the course experience to better serve users at every stage of their journey.

User Pain Points
No clear direction
Users get lost in a see of content and resources.
Outdated Content
Content had become obsolete, and Senior Coaches were having to correct the incorrect teaching content in development calls they led live.
Janky UI & UX
The old product had been add and modified so many times, it had become full of a lot of quirks and bugs that led to a lot of problems as the work through it.
Goals/Deliverables
Give users a clear path.
Users need to spend their brain calories on becoming great financial coaches, not on creating their own path to become one.Modular, Step-by-Step Course Layout
Created a clean, focused interface that breaks the course into bite-sized sections, reducing cognitive load and helping users take action one step at a time.
Onboarding Flow Design
Developed an onboarding experience that sets expectations, introduces key milestones, and immediately orients users within the learning environment.
Desired Outcome
To create a modern, intuitive training experience that empowers users to confidently become financial coaches—by keeping them engaged, focused, and supported throughout the journey—while delivering a refreshed, scalable course platform that aligns with business goals for increased completion rates, user satisfaction, and long-term program value.
